Skeeter Hawk
A dragonfly-inspired micro bait designed for ultra-light, weightless finesse in creeks and tight water.
This bait is best fished on a size 14 or smaller hook, weightless, using a BFS (Bait Finesse System) or SFS (Spin Finesse System) setup. The ultra-light profile allows it to glide, hover, and fall naturally with minimal input.
During testing, we were able to consistently cast this bait around 20 feet using 4lb and 6lb Creek Life Finesse Braid on a KastKing Kestrel SFS reel paired with our Hickory Twig UL rod.
For additional distance or controlled drifts, the Skeeter Hawk can be fished under a small float. It can also be rigged on a micro jig or cheb-style setup when fishing current seams, shallow runs, or deeper pockets.
Dragonflies and their larvae are a constant presence around Appalachian streams, and fish are conditioned to seeing them fall, flutter, and struggle on the surface or just below it. The Skeeter Hawk mimics that vulnerable moment with a subtle profile and controlled movement.
It doesn’t rely on flash or vibration. It relies on realism—making it especially effective on pressured fish, clear water, and spooky creek situations.
When the bite gets technical and the fish get picky, weightless finesse wins. The Skeeter Hawk is built for that exact moment.

I was slaying bluegill on this little guy, hooked through the head on a simple TruTurn Aberdeen hook! Toss it out, and just shake the rod slightly so it shimmies on the surface. They just come up and smash it!
I love these lures the thick redears in the pond love them too
Cant wait to try em!
Only played around with a few bluegill because we were out for cats but,I like it so far, bluegill were hitting it.
