The Tater Bug
1" Realistic Waxworm Soft Plastic — Appalachian-inspired subtlety that gets bit when everything else gets ignored.
Meet The Tater Bug—a lifelike 1" waxworm soft plastic designed to fool everything from bluegill to trophy trout. Built for subtlety and realism, this grubby little critter matches the same juicy waxworms fish devour in winter and early spring. Whether you’re float-fishing creeks, finesse jigging under docks, or vertical dropping into deep holes, the Tater Bug gets bit when other baits get ignored.
Hand-poured with delicate ribbing and a soft, natural flex, it moves like the real thing—even on the tiniest twitches. This is micro action with maximum believability.
Every creek kid knows the cold-season bite. The water goes clear, the fish get picky, and the easy stuff stops working. That’s when you go small and go real—little baits that look like actual groceries.
Around here, “tater bug” is just what we called those pale, grubby little critters you’d find tucked in the mess—worms, grubs, whatever you could scrounge up when your fingers were numb and you still wanted one more bite.
The Tater Bug is that old creek logic made into soft plastic: simple, lifelike, and hard to refuse.
Whether you’re dappin’ in the holler or finesse fishing clearwater lakes, The Tater Bug puts the odds in your favor— delivering micro action with mountain-born soul.
When the water turns cold and the bite turns mean, small and real wins. Tie on a Tater Bug and fish like you grew up here.

Getting bit with this guy
I haven't had a chance to fish these yet. But Jason from By His Grace fishing got me sold on them!!
The Tater Bug for bit when nothing else did. I caught a bream (Warmouth) that I didn’t even know existed in my local lake. I been fishing for 40 years and never caught one. But with this little 1” delight I caught three in a row!
The tater bug is the bomb! Panfish cannot resist it's realistic look!
