FISHING LINE

Appalachian Silk™ Ultra-Fine Braid

The thinnest braid in our lineup—built for tiny baits, long casts, and ultralight control. Made for size 500–1000 spinning reels and BFS baitcasters when you want maximum distance without sacrificing strength.

Ultra-fine = more distance

Appalachian Silk is a rarity in fishing line—an ultra-fine braid that very few companies can truly pull off. Less diameter means less air resistance and less drag in the guides, which translates into noticeably better casting distance with small baits from weightless to 1/16 oz and beyond. It’s made for real creek fishing, where a few extra feet can be the difference between spooking fish and getting bit.

Built from high-modulus PE fibers using a tight 4-strand weave, Appalachian Silk stays round, smooth, and consistent under tension—keeping friction low through micro guides and improving cast efficiency on ultralight gear.

Ridiculously thin (real numbers)

Our 4LB Micro Braid measures just 0.05mm (0.0019") in diameter—over three times thinner than standard 4LB mono at roughly 0.17mm (0.007"). That thin profile helps tiny lures load the rod easier, keeps presentations stealthy, and makes finesse feel effortless.

The compact 4-strand construction improves spool lay, reduces line slap, and minimizes wind knots—especially important on shallow ultralight spools and BFS reels.

What this means on the water
You get micro diameter with “micro confidence.” Appalachian Silk is made to hold up when a creek day turns into something bigger— surprise bass, strong trout, current, and hard fights on light gear.

Low-stretch PE fibers transmit bites instantly while maintaining abrasion resistance far beyond what the diameter suggests.
Best use
Ideal for shiners, trout, creek bass, and panfish on ultralight spinning and BFS. Especially deadly when you’re throwing tiny baits in clear water and need distance, control, and stealth.

Optimized for small spools, micro guides, and high-sensitivity creek setups.
Appalachian backstory

In the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, where mist clings to the valleys and ancient oaks whisper secrets, there was a tale of a group of seasoned fishermen who discovered a remarkable gift from nature. Deep within the forest, they encountered a giant writing spider, known in the local lore as the Weaver of the Web. The spider spun its silk with an artistry and strength unlike any other, weaving strands that shimmered like moonlight on the river. The fishermen, recognizing the potential, carefully harvested the silk and wove it into braided fishing line—crafting something so strong and supple it could handle fierce currents and the most elusive fish. And that delicate sheen with unbreakable strength became legend in their community… a reminder that the creek will give you something special if you respect where it comes from.
