Mayfly Detached Body

Detached Body Mayfly

The Detached Body Mayfly dry fly features an extended body that projects beyond the hook shank, suggesting the elongated abdomen of an adult mayfly. This size 12 pattern offers a distinct surface silhouette for trout feeding on mayflies, making it a useful choice when you want to focus on the insect's overall shape. Place it upstream of a rising fish and let it drift naturally through the feeding lane, using careful mends to keep the presentation free of drag.
